Today’s adventure:
Buck Jones. Organic Soil. The mommy trolley pulled up with two boys and hoped to leave with a bunch of dirt for our self-watering pickle bucket containers. Turns out, it’s half the cost to buy it loose as bagged. We’ll be back with our buckets in a few days when the buckets are assembled. I won anyway because I got to run around the nursery with my two boys. (Note: Second boy not pictured as he was lashed to my body.)
I'm Christine Van Cleave, designer, photographer, and mother of three. Our family of five is documenting our journey towards a simpler, more beautiful, and more sustainable life. In 2011, we donated, sold, thrifted, trashed, or gave away seven or more things each week. in 2012, we are learning to container garden on our shady property. We also paint, clean, build, sew, organize and create, documenting our DIY projects in real time to share how we're designing our home to be more customized and personal to our family's needs. All of this is an effort to make space for ourselves, focus on our creativity, simplify and beautify our home, create meaningful experiences with each other, directly provide for ourselves, and move toward a lifestyle that is more in tune with our values.
