About

Hi there. I’m glad you’re here.

My name is Christine Van Cleave, but a lot of people call me Crissy instead of Christine. I like deep conversations, good design, chocolate, and the opportunity to walk through a new art gallery. I dislike olives, hang nails, wet socks and half-finished projects.

I’m married to Christopher Thomas. I often refer to him with both names. Christopher’s generous and funny. He’s the best sort of person. We met in high school and once made out in the back of his friend’s blue Dodge at a party. I went on to study photography and graphic design and get my degree from the Art Institute of Atlanta. He studied business and became a banker. We didn’t see each other for a long time once high school was over, but then we met again at a ten year high school reunion. Life was never the same from about then on.

Now we are both full-time creatives. I’m a graphic designer and wedding and portrait photographer by profession. Since our first child was born, I’ve gone back and forth between full- and part-time work in photography and design depending on what our family needed.

Christopher majored in business but he subsequently taught himself all about film and went on to become a videographer and filmmaker. His day job now is heading up the videography department for a firm in the legal field. His passions are comedy and filmmaking. Christopher Thomas is the very best part of my life. He makes me smile every day. This is what he looks like on a beach when he’s not making a silly face:

We have two kids. Caia and Caden were each born on the 19th of a month - October and November, respectively. Our kids are as cute and quirky and funny and smart and gross as children can be. Caia got my utter inability to wake up quickly, my visual aptitude and her daddy’s butt chin and freckles. She adores the color blue. Caden got my lighter hair, my love of tomatoes, and Chris’ easy-going manner as well as his blue eyes. He also is completely infatuated with the remote control. These are the pictures of them I have hanging in my kitchen:
